Appeals

Dow Golub Remels & Gilbreath represents clients in federal and state trial courts, before administrative tribunals and in arbitrations and other dispute resolution procedures. We provide our clients with an important combination of strategic thinking, first-rate trial skills, matched by an impressive track record, substantial experience, and well-tested litigation judgment.

In addition to trial court proceedings, the firm also has extensive experience in a wide variety of appellate proceedings and has developed a sophisticated understanding of the appellate process. In our capacity as appellate practitioners, we understand that the majority of appeals are decided on the briefs alone. We therefore devote substantial effort to ensuring that our briefs not only contain compelling scholarly arguments, but also are concise, readable and interesting.

We have appeared before the Texas Courts of Appeal, including briefing and oral arguments in disputes involving partnership issues, construction and mechanic’s liens issues, ad valorem tax matters, issues relating to the Texas Whistleblower Act, business fraud and deceptive trade practices violations, complex lease disputes, and contract disputes. Additionally, we have prepared and responded to petitions for review to the Texas Supreme Court, and petitions for extraordinary writ relief to intermediate appellate courts.

Our federal appellate experience includes proceedings in the Second and Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. We have been counsel of record in published decisions and in many unpublished decisions, including matters involving Title VII issues, ERISA, the validity of Medicaid regulations, and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
